Thunderbirds Fore-runner

The USAF Skyblazers were the fore-runners of the USAF Thunerbirds. The Skyblazers formed in 1949, four years before the Thunderbirds. Two of the original Skyblazers pilots, identical twins, Lts C. A. "Bill" Pattillo and Charles C. "Buck" Pattillo would leave the team to help form the Thunderbirds. In this photo Capt Dale "Snort" Snodgrass flies an F-86F Sabre painted in Skyblazers colors.
